Birthday and Relatives

According to the lunar calendar, Oct 26, 2013 was my birthday. So my grandmother did pooja that morning and I got to eat my eggs with bacon and a side of suji ka halwa.

I had to go to the parlour for my haircut as my mother pointed out that I was due for one. I arrived late to my job as I had previously informed them about it.

It was a slow day for me since I didn't have any major work that day. Why do we have a six day work week? What's wrong with the five day work week? Everybody had stuff to do on the weekends. I can't do any of those errands because I only get Sunday off. It's very annoying.

I wish I had a job that only required a five day work week. I don't mind working late as a compensation for two days off.

I wish I knew what job makes me happy and where I can excel. These days everybody has so many options for a career. Previous generations didn't and so they picked and worked. I have too many choices and I still can't figure it out.

My parents say it's ok to be confused but I think I'm too confused. Maybe I don't' work as hard. Maybe I'm lazy. Maybe I still haven't found what I'm suppose to do. Let's see what happens at the end of my probation which got extended to another three months. Of course there were projects in progress so that's why it got extended. Otherwise the projects would get stuck in limbo and my boss wouldn't like that.

Today some relatives came over for lunch and my mother's colleague and his family. I was very happy to see my cousin and his wife. There currently since this city since my cousin's job has posted him here for two months. I am also looking forward to meeting my brother who is coming next month for a very short visit due to his visa expiring. He can't take a longer vacation since his company is laying people off and they are short staffed. I wish teleportation or appariting or using a portkey was possible in this day of age.

Beam me up, Scotty

Happy Tuesday

Yipeee
July 2
It's tuesday
It's also the middle of the year.
182 days are gone and 182 days are left
In honour of today, I present this Jim Hunt photo:

Today this bird wasn't anywhere near my head or body or any part of me.

I have this major project whose deadline we did not meet. I did corrections on this book, but according to my boss I missed some. So, I had to list all the missed corrections from yesterday and today and emailed them to the typesetter (person who makes the text look like it does when you open a book.)

In the meantime, I worked on another project. But I was taking too much time, said my boss. The book had at least twenty corrections on every page which I had to sort out. I had to erase all the pointless corrections and leave the important ones. Those have to go to the typesetter as soon as possible

My third project, I sent my doubts to the author and they got cleared up pretty quickly. So that was good and I emailed the few corrections to the typesetter.

The typesetter emailed me my two projects by today evening which was really amazing and nice of him to do. I did mention that my first project was a top priority and needed to be fast tracked.

My brain hurts from remembering about the statuses of my projects. Sometimes I wish life is simple as it was in our childhood.

My life needs a do-over seriously. Why don't we come with warnings and suggestions? Oh well, just going to have to bear with it and move forward.
